How it works

Understanding your child’s sensory needs starts with the right questions.

You don't need to have everything figured out before you begin. We guide you through each step, from completing the assessment to understanding the results and deciding what may be helpful for your child.

What to expect

A structured process, shaped around the family.

  1. 01

    Online and convenient

The questionnaire is completed online, so you can begin the assessment process from home.

  2. 02

    Professionally interpreted

Taryn reviews the assessment information using her Occupational Therapy experience, rather than treating the results as an automated answer.

  3. 03

    Personal to your family

We can talk by email, phone, or a combination of both, with recommendations based on your child's individual needs.

The five-step process

What happens after you get in touch.

From your first email to your individualised recommendations, each step helps us build a clearer picture of your child's needs.

  1. 01

    Step 01

    Start the conversation

Send us an email to get started. We'll learn a little about what you're looking for and help determine which assessment is appropriate.

Email is the preferred starting point.

  2. 02

    Step 02

    Complete the assessment

We'll send you the appropriate standardised questionnaire to complete online. You'll answer based on your observations and everyday experiences with your child.

The proprietary questionnaire is not hosted on this website.

  3. 03

    Step 03

    Review the results

Once the assessment is complete, Taryn reviews the results using her Occupational Therapy experience. This helps identify the sensory areas that may be most relevant to your child and gives us a more informed starting point for the consultation.

  4. 04

    Step 04

    Talk it through

We'll talk through the results, answer your questions and consider them in the context of your child's everyday experiences. This can happen by email, phone, or a combination of both.

  5. 05

    Step 05

    Receive individualised recommendations

After the consultation, we'll provide individualised ideas for sensory tools and strategies that are relevant to your child's identified needs and everyday life.

Why interpretation matters

A questionnaire provides information. Professional interpretation gives it context.

A structured starting point

A standardised questionnaire brings observations and everyday experiences together in a consistent way, giving us useful information to work from.

Understanding the individual child

Taryn draws on more than 20 years of Occupational Therapy experience to interpret that information in the context of the individual child and identify the areas most relevant to the conversation.

Assessment results help us build understanding; they are not, by themselves, a diagnosis.

What you come away with

A more informed place from which to support your child.

By the end of the process, you'll have a clearer understanding of the assessment results and practical guidance to help you consider what may be useful for your child.
